The construction industry slowly begins to be interesting again for the young generations. Millennials are born between 1981 and 1996 and represent now a significant part of the workforce. Lots of things are said about them, more or less flattering, but the reality is that this group, just like any other group, has some unique qualities, but overall it is not that different after all.
The construction industry is doing great, experiencing a boom after the last recession, but there are still problems with motivating young generations to follow this career path over college. However, with the technological improvements and financial advantages, it seems to become a bit more attractive again.
There are now mobile cloud applications, 3D printing, drones and automated machines that do not associate this industry exclusively with brute force anymore.
The Millennial generation can bring a positive influence in the construction industry, precisely due to their innovating thinking. There are construction opportunities starting with road construction jobs in Colorado to building construction and so much more. They are also good collaborators and communicators, as they grew up with modern team-oriented education. Millennials are also preoccupied by environment protection, therefore, in the construction industry, they will likely be committed to green building.
Properly motivated, they can be loyal employees.
