There are jobs in the construction industry, there is no doubt about it and the money is good. Plus, there are many other benefits:
- When you start, you do not need to be qualified. Just enroll in an apprenticeship program and learn while you work and earn money. Yes, it is just as convenient as it sounds!
- There are various opportunities to build a career in construction – and make it meaningful!
- You have the opportunity to travel
- You have a dynamic job, you never get bored and you work in a team
However, construction jobs in Colorado are on the rise not because the economy is doing so incredibly well, but because people are not so interested in entering this field anymore, even with all the benefits mentioned above. The most common reason is related to the overall image of the construction industry (which doesn`t seem to be attractive for newer generations). It is perceived as an outdated profession, even dangerous.
Even if these are misconceptions, it is still hard to fight against them. In reality the construction industry benefits from technologic advances that make it more convenient and safer than ever. Besides, the new apprenticeship programs that combine on-the-job training with formal classes decrease or completely eliminate the cost of training.
