Construction trends have been consistently moving in the direction of efficiency and sustainability for a while now. Even with that there are still more than plenty of great construction jobs in Colorado. The growing need for buildings that have enhanced energy-saving features to minimize environmental impact and the demand to get construction projects finished as quickly as possible has been setting the trends in the residential and industrial construction industry for some time – here are the construction trends that are the hottest right now:
- Modular construction – modular buildings are made using prefabricated sections manufactured in factories, then assembled on the client’s property. Modular buildings come with benefits ranging from lower building costs to shorter completion times.
- Sustainable and passive buildings – environmentally responsible and resource-efficient buildings are also in high demand. Sustainable building technologies involve the usage of biodegradable materials such as special paints, the installation of special, renewable energy supply solutions such as photovoltaic cells or equipment that transforms wind power into electricity.
- Technologies that reduce ownership costs – the usage of windows manufactured with smart glass technology (glass that reacts to the intensity of the light that passes through it by turning dark), low-emittance windows that blocks excessive heat from outside and keeps temperatures inside stable, low-emittance roofs that do the same with the sun’s rays coming from above are also important trends in the construction industry.
